The 3rd Annual Downtown Wilmington Brewgrass Festival took place on Saturday. For $ 35, beer lovers were able to sample unlimited beer from 12 different breweries.

“Wilmington people love live music and they love events that involve beer… and if you give them those they will come, and every time we have an event like this it’s a success,” said Katie Lucas of the Downtown Wilmington Business Alliance.

The attendees not only got to sample many different brews, they were also treated to some live music as four bands performed. For a reduced price, Brewfest offered a designated driver ticket as well, or you could call it a music only ticket.

Plenty of mothers-to-be were full of baby talk in downtown Wilmington on Saturday.

Hundreds of parents, and expecting parents, visited the All About Baby Shower and Expo at the Schwartz Center on Front Street. Vendors had everything you would need to welcome a new baby, or just to pamper ones you already have.

Parents could walk away with information on proper baby care as well as unique gifts.

“The Cape Fear Museum has activities for them to do, there is informational classes, great, great things…a lot of clients here, so there is a lot of neat stuff under on roof for babies and children,” said event coordinator Holly Shaw.

More than a dozen sponsors, along with New Hanover Regional Medical Center, hosted the event.
