First Bank closes Lumina Mortgage

First Bank on Friday shut down Lumina Mortgage Co. and folded the mortgage bank’s functions and business into its own operations.Customers in the process of getting a mortgage, however, should be unaffected, said Mark Vernon, a loan originator at Lumina’s main office, 219 Racine Drive.

Wrightsville Beach restaurants have plans for common seating space

A new outdoor eating area is coming to this New Hanover County beach town’s business district.The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen on Thursday approved requests by Cafe Del Mar and Vito’s Pizzeria to use their shared alley as a common seating and eating area.
