Brunswick County | A 46-year-old Leland man was injured Wednesday when a car hit his bicycle on N.C. 133 in Brunswick County.

H1N1 claims first life in North Carolina

The first death in North Carolina linked to H1N1 has been confirmed. An adult in Guilford County died Friday.

The patient had other health problems, which likely contributed to the death.

State Health Director Heffrey Engel said H1N1 has been similar to the seasonal flu, which kills about 36,000 people every year in the US.

Clarification on sex sting at Smile Spa

There is a clarification on a story we reported Tuesday. In our newscast we incorrectly identified a Brunswick County couple as the owners of Smile Spa, one of the four massage parlors raided last week by the sheriff’s department.

The couple does not own Smile Spa, but rather the building in which Smile Spa was located.

We apologize for the error.
