For the past few weeks, WWAY has been following the investigation into several illegal sex businesses in southern Brunswick County.

In June, WWAY was there when the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department and a number of other agencies raided the businesses, some of which were disguised as massage parlors.

Wednesday, an undercover detective told us the investigation is continuing into who may have owned and operated those businesses and properties.

“Since the investigation we did on the illegal houses of prostitution in Brunswick County we have furthered our investigation into looking into the business owners and property owners, and anyone who may have had any involvement in that illegal activity. We have not concluded the investigation, and it is still ongoing at this time,” the detective said.

Women from the Sun Spa, one of the illegal establishments disguised as a massage parlor, already pled guilty. The rest are still waiting on a court date.
