New law requires boater education

Three alleged sex offenders wanted in New Hanover County

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three sex offenders.

Deputies say Jamahl Taylor, Nieto Middlebrooks and Gary Reed are sex offenders who are not registered properly according to a recent investigation.

That investigation led to six other arrests, including one offender who was extradited from Virginia.

Anyone who knows where any of the three men are should contact the New Hanover Sheriff’s Office at 910-798-4200.

Students can get a tour of Cedar Grove Middle School

Brunswick County students return to class two weeks from Tuesday. Some may be stepping foot in brand new schools for the first time.

If your child is going to Cedar Grove Middle School, you can take a tour of the school before class begins. The school is holding an open house Tuesday night from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The school is located at 750 Grove Trail in Supply.

Students return to class August 25th.

Involuntary annexation moves forward at St. James

N.C. General Statute 24A-160A, the state legislation permitting towns to involuntarily annex neighboring land, was at the center of tensions Monday night at the Odell Williamson Auditorium in Bolivia, where the Town of St. James held a public hearing.
