CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Some of the more than 11,000 workers at the University of North Carolina are upset their work schedules are being altered to make room for a weeknight football game on the Chapel Hill campus.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Wednesday that university workers will go home two hours early on Oct. 22 to accommodate the night game against Florida State. State policy
requires employees to make up the time.

UNC-Chapel Hill vice chancellor Brenda Malone says workers can start a work day earlier, stay later, or work through lunch that week.

Campus employee Richard Silc says hourly workers will be forced to juggle caring for children or elderly parents to accommodate the 60,000 fans expected for the football game.
