Miss USA honors hometown of Wilmington in preliminary competition

For the first time, fans of the Miss Universe pageant could watch a preliminary round online. So Sunday night, locals could see Miss USA Kristen Dalton, a Wilmington native and Hoggard High School graduate, compete in the swimsuit and evening gown categories.

Update: Oak Island skydiver recovering with broken leg, business owner says

Oak Island | A man injured in a skydiving accident Saturday afternoon on Oak Island has a broken leg, but is recovering, according to the owner of the business where the man took off from.Brian Strong, owner and operator of Skydive Coastal Carolinas said his client called him from the hospital on Sunday morning and said he was all right.
