Man charged with stabbing another in stomach released on bond

Wilmington | A 51-year-old man who police say stabbed an acquaintance in the stomach during a fight was arrested and taken to jail Saturday night, then released on bond.

Oak Island skydiver recovering with broken leg, business owner says

Oak Island | A man injured in a skydiving accident Saturday afternoon on Oak Island has a broken leg, but is recovering, according to the owner of the business where the man took off from.Brian Strong, owner and operator of Skydive Coastal Carolinas said his client called him from the hospital on Sunday morning and said he was all right.

2 men trying to fend off armed robbers shot; not critically wounded

WILMINGTON | Two men who police say tried to fend off robbers were both shot Saturday night, though neither is believed to be critically wounded.The armed robbery occurred at 10:38 p.m. in the 300 block of Grass Lane, according to a statement from Lucy Crockett, spokeswoman for the Wilmington Police Department.
