In Honor of September 11th, Hope for the Warriors organization is sponsoring a three-day bike riding event for wounded service members. Friday, they continued day two of their journey.

The troops made a stop at Virginia Williamson Elementary School in Brunswick County, and what a welcoming they got.

As the troops cycled around the front of the school, kids ran up to give them cards and high-fives to thank them for their service. The heroes were overwhelmed with emotion.

Cycling coach Brian Grenier said, “You know cyclists always talk about their heart rate going up in training, and I got to tell you – my heart rate came up just coming down this driveway, it was really fantastic.”

“I’m very impressed with the patriotism with all these kids, it’s pretty emotional actually,” added Sean Debevoise.

One of the wounded warriors started doing push-ups for the kids, they instantly all joined in with him.
