Elevated tides expected at Southeastern N.C. beaches

The new moon, persistent winds and weaker currents in the mid-Atlantic Ocean should lead to higher than normal tides along area beaches this evening at about 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Pender County commissioners to meet in Atkinson
