Clock ticking on tax benefits

The clock is ticking if you want to take advantage of the tax benefits in the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

If you don’t act soon, you could be leaving thousands of dollars on the table.

New Hanover County consolidating to save money

New Hanover County government is making some administrative changes.

County Manager Bruce Shell announced the County Parks and Rec. Department, Airlie Gardens and the Senior Resource Center will consolidate.

Shell said the move will streamline the departments and help save the county money and resources in the long run. He could not specify how much the move would save.

Shell also said that no one lost their job in the streamlining process.

Elevated tides expected at Southeastern N.C. beaches tonight

The new moon, persistent winds and weaker currents in the mid-Atlantic Ocean should lead to higher than normal tides along area beaches this evening at about 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
