Wave Transit bus strikes moped driver at UNCW

A man driving a moped was rushed to the hospital Saturday night after being struck by a Wave Transit bus on the University of North Carolina Wilmington campus.The accident happened about 8:30 p.m. on Hurst Drive near Wagoner Drive.

Assault victim’s brother thanks Wrightsville Beach

Carlyle Gee publicly thanked police, EMS and the whole community of Wrightsville Beach last week for their response after the assault on his brother. “People pulled together,” he said at the Board of Aldermen meeting Thursday.
