Man arrested for allegedy assualting disabled person with a vase

Supply | A man was arrested this week after authorities say he broke into a home and assaulted someone.Joshua G. Carlisle, 21, of Shallotte is charged with breaking and entering, and assault on a handicapped person, according to a spokeswoman with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies investigatiing string of car break-ins near Ogden

Ogden | More than a half dozen vehicles were broken into this week in the 200 and 300 blocks of Shore Point Drive, officials said. The neighborhood is off Bayshore Drive, which intersects Market Street near Ogden.

Another possible rabies case discovered in Wilmington

Wilmington | A sick puppy had to be put down this week because it had rabies, animal control officials said Thursday.Animal control officials picked up the puppy Wednesday after it had been taken to a pet emergency clinic.The dog, which belonged to a family on Sycamore Street, was showing neurological signs of rabies.
