Rep. Mike McIntyre says he will vote against health care bill

Congressman Mike McIntyre, D-N.C., said Saturday he will vote “no” on the health care bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to a statement his press secretary released Saturday afternoon.

The 1980s marked a decade of local historical changes made by Maggie Friedberg.Edith “Maggie” Mansfield Friedberg died Oct. 16.Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Friedberg would reside in Ventnor City, N.J., and Raleigh, where she raised three children, before relocating to Wrightsville Beach in 1968.

Crowds throng on last day of Cape Fear Fair & Expo

The rides are ridden, the funnel cakes consumed. Blue ribbons were distributed and the chickens counted. Another year of the Cape Fear Fair and Expo is over.People streamed onto the fair grounds as soon as the gates opened at noon Saturday to make the most of the mild November day.
