New Oak Island mayor will try to trim town hall cost

In March, the town council voted to award the construction contract for a new town hall to Paragon Building Corp. for $2.6 million. Wallace says that while the cost has been reported as $2.6 million, the actual cost, including debt service, will total $6.7 million.

Health Notes – Speaker to focus on spiritual health

Nuke plant sirens will sound next week

Southport | The public notification sirens within 10 miles of the Brunswick Nuclear Plant will sound at full volume Nov. 18 in an annual test.During this test, all of the sirens will sound at 10 a.m. for three minutes.
