Oak Island marina project wins approval

The Oak Island Town Council approved a conditional use permit Tuesday for a development beside the Oak Island Bridge, but had serious concerns about another waterside development proposed for the new bridge corridor.

Oak Island cart drivers press for lower speed limit

Kimberly Barbour Munley, Carolina Beach’s hometown hero, appeared in a television interview for the first time since she was credited with stopping the deadly shooting rampage at Fort Hood last week.This time, it was celebrity talk show host Oprah Winfrey declaring her a hero.

Weather puts Pender, Duplin and Columbus schools on 2-hour delay
