Oak Island cart drivers press for lower speed limit

Oak Island | A debate about whether to permanently change the speed limit on Oak Island’s Dolphin Drive to 35 mph year-round proved to be a hot issue Tuesday night, with residents on both sides passionately lobbying the town council.

Kimberly Barbour Munley, Carolina Beach’s hometown hero, appeared in a television interview for the first time since she was credited with stopping the deadly shooting rampage at Fort Hood last week.This time, it was celebrity talk show host Oprah Winfrey declaring her a hero.

Weather puts Pender, Duplin and Columbus schools on 2-hour delay
