Local business sets up trust fund for one of their employees

A local business is asking for your help this holiday season. Flaming Amy’s is taking donations for a trust fund they set up in the name of one of their employees, Oscar Martinez.

Martinez, who is a cook at the Burrito Barn, lost his girlfriend due to complications during her pregnancy a few weeks ago. Their son, Benjamin Parker, survived but is currently in the intensive care unit.

As Martinez takes time off of work to stay in the hospital with his son, the restaurant is asking for donations to help this family in their time of need.

“People have come from out of town to donate and people call everyday asking about it,” said Flaming Amy’s employee Sara Wiland. “Some lady called the other day offering to gives us a brand new car seat because she had it and never used it. I called her today to tell her that I did need it so she should be bringing that in.”

Flaming Amy’s raised $11,000 on their first day of collection, and they plan to open a PayPal account to increase their collections.
