Water main break affects traffic around S. College and Oleander

Wilmington | Authorities re-directed traffic on South College Road Thursday night after a water main broke near the intersection of Oleander Drive, officials said.The break was reported at 9:51 p.m. and caused water to come up out of the road, said Kathryn Strickland, a supervisor with the New Hanover County Emergency Operations Center.

Drug conviction earns Pender man 200 months in prison

Pender County | A 29-year-old Pender County man was sentenced in federal court Thursday to 200 months in prison for conspiring to possess and distribute more than 50 grams of crack cocaine, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
