Pender County authorizes $422,500 incentive grant for Coty plant sale

The jobs lost by the planned closure of Coty Inc.’s production plant in Rocky Point could be recouped if New Jersey-based Medicia Holdings LLC completes a deal to acquire the plant.Dale Dvorak, Medicia’s chief executive officer, said a decision could be announced after the first of the year.

Wreck causing traffic delays in Surf City

Wilmington woman wins $162,944 in Carolina Cash 5

A stop at a supermarket last week proved lucrative for a Wilmington woman.Virginia Brodzinski won $162,944 – $110,802 after taxes – in Sunday’s “Carolina Cash 5” drawing.She purchased the winning ticket at the Food Lion on Independence Boulevard near Carolina Beach Road.
