Brunswick officials plan for industrial boom

Local missionary returns to Haiti

Wilmington native Debbie Mathis returned to Haiti on Wednesday to continue her work as a missionary there. The former hairdresser was visiting Wilmington when her home in Haiti was destroyed in the earthquake.

Brunswick County Airport extends runway to handle bigger jets

Brunswick County Airport officials hope to be able to accommodate larger jets by April. Construction is under way to extend the airport runway from 4,300 feet to 5,505 feet.
