Middle school redistricting map still unresolved

Myrtle Grove Middle student Joiesha Bush currently has a 20-minute bus ride from Myrtle Grove every day, covering about seven miles each way. The most recent district map puts her in Holly Shelter Middle School in Castle Hayne, twice the distance.

Navassa police officer charged with raping a child

Leland | A Navassa police officer was charged Thursday with first-degree rape of a child in connection with an assault alleged to have occurred in 2006, according to a release from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
