Wilmington | James Fred Rippy III, president of car dealerships that bear his family’s name, died Monday at his home, according to obituary information provided by Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.Rippy III owned the dealership with his brother R. Allen Rippy.

NAACP making inquiries about Brunswick board members’ business dealings with county

Brunswick County’s NAACP branch has asked officials for information about members of boards who do business with the county.The request, filed last week, stemmed from questions about Brunswick County Board of Health members who hold contracts with the county’s health department, said Bernest Hewett, president of the NAACP branch.
