Oak Island won’t have to abandon wells to move forward with sewer system

Oak Island | In a ruling that could help Oak Island get the first phase of its wastewater system up and running by June, the state has informed town officials that hundreds of Oak Island property owners won’t have to abandon their irrigation wells as previously thought.

Mayor meets mayor during Iraqi’s visit to Wilmington

In his first visit to the United States, the mayor of Samarra, Iraq came to the Wilmington area to learn from local leaders. “I learned a lot and I will implement this when I get back to Samarra,” said Mahmood Khalaf Ahmed, the Qaim’ makam, or mayor, of Samarra.

Alton Y. Lennon, Wilmington attorney, disbarred over land deals
