Edward Hill Jr., the Sports Information Director at Howard University is a Wilmington native that was recently elected into the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Hall of Fame. It is one of many honors he has received over the years.

WHA avoids conflict in awarding construction contract

Woman sentenced for hiding mom’s death

A 47-year-old woman who kept her dead mother in her house for seven months to collect her Social Security benefits pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced to three years’ probation.

Update – Motorcyclist killed in collision with SUV

The driver of a motorcycle was killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash with an SUV at the junction of Myrtle Grove Road and Sentry Oaks Drive, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.
