St. James considers assuming building inspections and permitting

New construction in Brunswick County has lurched to a slow crawl in recent years, but the town of St. James says it is still seeing new construction and is considering taking control of building inspections and permitting services currently provided by the county.

Wrightsboro Elementary closed for rest of year due to mold

New Hanover County Schools has shut down Wrightsboro Elementary School because tests showed elevated levels of mold spores, according to a news release from the system.The district recently announced that mold was found in two buildings. Kindergarten classes were relocated to Castle Hayne Elementary School.
