Caper Corporation won’t purchase Nesbitt Courts

The Caper Corporation will not purchase Nesbitt Courts as planned, so it is unclear how long the decaying property off of South Third Street will remain a blight to Wilmington’s Southside neighborhood.

ABC board scales down headquarters expansion

Preliminary plans call for an expansion only half the size of the previous design and only use three of the 13 parcels former ABC Administrator Billy Williams and the former ABC board purchased in 2007 and 2008 for $2.5 million.

Teacher receives national physical education award

Ann Hughes, New Hanover County Schools Adapted Physical Education teacher, has been named National Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year by the Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She will be honored March 18 at the National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.
