Southport | An emergency was declared at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant late Friday when a fire damaged maintenance equipment in the Unit 1 turbine building, Progress Energy told the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Brunswick man allegedly cut another man with box cutter

Brunswick County | A Brunswick County man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly cut another man with a box cutter.Sherman Aundo Daniels, 53, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to a news release from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
