Wrightsville Beach committee suggests new uses for buildings to be vacated by fire, police departments

Wrightsville Beach | Town staff reached a consensus Wednesday on recommendations for what to do with buildings left behind when the police and fire departments move into the new Public Safety Facility. The Building Utilization Group has been mulling over options for several months.

Brunswick County authorities searching for chase suspect

Leland | Brunswick County Sheriff’s officials were searching Wednesday for a man involved in a vehicle chase with a Brunswick County deputy Tuesday night.Jeremy Ray Grainger, 22, is wanted on charges of fleeing to elude arrest, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

$81.7 million contract awarded for Brunswick segment of U.S. 17 bypass
