Top-earning ABC areas across the state hire own officers

While detectives enforcing Alcoholic Beverage Control laws in New Hanover County make cash deposits and provide security as their main duties, most ABC boards surveyed by the StarNews said their law enforcement officers conducted compliance checks for violations of underage drinking and other alcohol-related laws.
