Suspect in murder of Shallotte real estate agent freed on bond

Brunswick County | The second suspect charged with murdering a Shallotte real estate agent was released from jail Tuesday.Lora Moultrie was released and put on house arrest after posting her $200,000 bond, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Smoke in cafeteria forces Noble Middle School evacuation

Students at Noble Middle School evacuated the building just after 2 p.m., after a smoke alarm sounded and alerted authorities to smoke inside the cafeteria of the school.
