UNCW assistant athletic director resigns; charged with soliciting sex, drug possession

Thomas “Tommy” McKnight, 39, was the assistant athletic director for facilities at the University of North Carolina Wilmington when we has charged with soliciting crimes against nature and drug possession, according to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

Nuclear plant will test sirens Wednesday morning

Brunswick County | The public notification sirens within 10 miles of the Brunswick Nuclear Plant will be tested starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The sirens will sound for 10-second “growl tests” to ensure the system is in good working order, according to a news release from Progress Engergy.

Man crashes van behind Target; found unconscious and bleeding in woods

A man was cited for driving while impaired and several other traffic violations Monday night after left his wrecked vehicle behind and walked into the woods, where he fell unconscious.
