Pender chairman positive about county’s economic potential

Wrightsville Beach bans inland waterway groins

No groins or other hardened structures may be erected in the inland waterways of the town of Wrightsville Beach, according to an ordinance amendment passed unanimously by the Board of Aldermen at its meeting Thursday.The prohibition does not apply to ocean beaches.

Welcome Honor Flight veterans return from D.C. trip

WILMINGTON | Organizers of the first Honor Flight of Southeastern North Carolina hope to have a good crowd to welcome home World War II veterans.The Honor Flight carrying more than 100 veterans will leave Wilmington International Airport at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
