Brunswick weighing household waste management fee in lieu of layoffs

The majority of Brunswick’s county commissioners said Wednesday they would rather implement a solid waste fee than layoff employees to fill a large budget gap for the upcoming fiscal year.

Munley returns to her ‘roots’ as grand marshal of Azalea Festival Parade

Munley, a Carolina Beach native, is in Wilmington for the Azalea Festival to serve as the grand marshal of the festival parade on Saturday. The post will also have her attending all of the Azalea Festival events, from the concerts to the garden party, that her still-developing medical condition will allow her.
