Space shuttle, station will be visible over Wilmington

If you get up early Thursday morning and look in the right place, you should be able to see the International Space Station and the recently launched Space Shuttle Discovery, orbiting more or less over Southeastern North Carolina.

Tall ship sailing into downtown; Memorial bridge will be raised for its passage

The tall ship “Peacemaker” will arrive in downtown Wilmington at approximately 4:30 p.m. today, depending on tide currents. Commuters should note that the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge will be raised to allow the ship to reach downtown
