Brunswick County DA could benefit from Sen. Soles bill

Brunswick County District Attorney Rex Gore said Monday that he asked state Sen. R.C. Soles Jr. to change the effective date on a bill so Gore wouldn’t benefit financially if it passes.

Burgaw Middle School principal suspended

Pender County Schools has suspended the principal of Burgaw Middle School for an unspecified offense, according to a news release Monday. Burgaw Middle Principal Major Coleman was suspended on Friday and will not return to the school this year.
