Unemployment falls throughout Southeastern North Carolina

Brunswick County’s unemployment rate dropped below 10 percent in May, the first time in at least a year, the N.C. Employment Security Commission said Friday.

N.C. State’s new chancellor praised during his visit

Randy Woodson, the 14th chancellor of the Raleigh university, stopped in Wilmington on Thursday evening in the midst of a tour of North Carolina, meeting with business, education and community leaders to learn more about the state and how N.C. State interacts with it.
