New Hanover’s tourism revenue dropped 7.6 percent in 2009

Tourism and travel brought more than $390 million in spending in New Hanover County in 2009. That’s good news. The bad news is that like most of the state, tourism revenues in New Hanover decreased from 2008. Revenues dropped by 7.6 percent, just slightly worse than the statewide decrease of 7.4 percent.

Shipyard at River Road to close for railroad crossing upgrades
