Topsail High among N.C. schools to offer Microsoft certification free to students

Microsoft executives and North Carolina public school officials announced a partnership Monday that allows N.C. high school students to get certification in the company’s programming for free.

Limestone quarry proposed in conservation area east of Maple Hill

Martin Marietta is seeking a special-use permit to build a 1,800-acre limestone mine off N.C. 50 just east of Maple Hill in an area zoned for agricultural and residential use.

Helicopter flights to check power lines
