Wilmington’s crime rates show marked drops

Offsetting last year’s double-digit increase that pushed Wilmington’s crime rates above those of North Carolina’s major metropolises, overall crime in the city has dropped 8 percent thus far this year, putting rates on track to meet historic new lows, an official declared on Thursday.
