Topsail Beach town manager gets $13,000 raise amid job cuts

Manager Tim Holloman’s salary was raised from $71,750 to $85,000 a year, an increase unanimously approved by the town’s commissioners during a special meeting Thursday. Holloman is also receiving a $5,000 moving allowance.

Burglar takes truck, 40-foot container near port

A burglar broke into a parking lot near the Port of Wilmington Wednesday morning and stole a container with $100,000 worth of tires inside, according to a news release from the Wilmington Police Department.
