Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Southeastern N.C. until 8 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties until 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.Scattered thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening could become severe, and “damaging straight line winds” are the main concern, according to the forecast.
