New Hanover schools still poised to cut 200 positions

It’s retirement season in New Hanover County schools. At Tuesday night’s New Hanover Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Tim Markley announced a few more retirements and people who will fill those positions starting July 1.

Brunswick’s temporary school budget at 85 percent of last year’s amount

Brunswick County’s school board approved an interim budget at is meeting Tuesday night. The budget will allow the district to operate at 85 percent of its current year spending until next year’s funding from the General Assembly is approved.
