When a coworker suggested I try curling, I was hesitant. I knew it could be dangerous.I didn’t want to end up like one of those girls at my high school who always seemed to have burns on their neck from their curling accidents. Some people suggested that those marks might have been caused by an overly affectionate boyfriend, but I didn’t know anyone who would let her boyfriend curl her hair.

Hill has no qualms in casting swing vote

At 85 years of age, Rep. Dewey Hill is small in stature and generally soft-spoken. But his two votes Friday and early Saturday on the $19.7 billion state budget were expected to be large and loud.Hill, the 10-term Democrat who represents Columbus and part of Brunswick County in the state House, planned to be one of a handful of House Democrats poised to buck his party and vote for the Republicans’ state budget plan for the next two years.
