Snipes Academy students collaborate on design of permanent sculpture

Andi Steele, an assistant professor of art and art history at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, staked a permanent sculpture of twisted steel and colorful aluminum cans into the ground in front of Snipes. The third-grade class helped design the sculpture using a rainbow of pipe cleaners.
