Sunday, October 9th, 2011

KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — What better way to enjoy the great weather this weekend than at the beach, with some tasty seafood and a little music? Well for hundreds in Pleasure Island, that’s exactly what they did.

The 18th annual Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues and Jazz Festival was this weekend. Folks enjoyed arts and crafts, a wine garden and great seafood. But the big draw was the music! There were fifteen bands in all.

“They’ve got different bands, the food is always great, and they’ve got the vendors there,” said Ann Crenella, who has been attending the festival since 2007. “We always find some little jewelry there or something else to buy.”

The two day festival took place along the Cape Fear River at the Fort Fisher Military Recreational area in Kure Beach.
