“A Smile as Big as the Moon” debuts on WWAY, extras from Jacksonville

Monday, January 30th, 2012

JACKSONVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Hallmark Hall of Fame movie “A Smile as Big as the Moon” debuted on WWAY Sunday night. The family film was shot in Wilmington and many of its extras are from Jacksonville. Family and friends rolled out the red carpet for their special night on Sunday.

From the network to Jacksonville Country Club, these special extras enjoyed their night in the spotlight.

“It was good,” says Brandon Rhodes, an extra for the movie. “I was kind of excited and I’m really happy I can be in a movie.”

Proud parents were on hand for the festivities.

“Oh this is amazing because, I mean, when you have a special needs child that’s born you have no idea what they’re future is going to bring them,” says Jeanette Martinez, an extra’s mother. “Jessica has reached for the stars and tonight she is a star. What more could a mom ask for?”

It was a night that these special extras will not soon forget. For many, they hope it will not be their last acting job.

“It’s a great night, being here with my mom and dad,” said extra Jessica Martinez.

Frank Slightom – President of Briky Inc. “I’ve signed with Area 81 Racing to provide support to local racing efforts in the new F1000 series after being approached by Richard & Tim to develop a Personal Cooling Blower (PCB) for Open Cockpit racing applications”. The new portable PCB Blower can also be used in other Racing Series, Helicopters & Police Tactical Vehicles where cooling of personnel translates into less heat related stress & better performance.

Team Principal & Driver Car # 81 – Richard Franklin – Innovative companies market in innovative ways. The facts are; CITSCORP and Briky customers are technically focused and professional. Their core customer is the same type of person who would be drawn to SCCA Road Racing & our high-tech 150mph, 12,000 rpm, open wheel F1000 Racing cars. Area 81 plans to assist both CITSCORP and Briky in new markets and help them to be part of SCCA racing. Tim & I look forward to representing their services and demonstrating their innovative products throughout the 2012 season.

Team Principal & Driver Car # 18 – Tim Pierce – I am honored to have CITSCORP and Briky as part of the Area 81 Racing team. With a degree in Electrical Engineering and Industrial plant experience, I am excited to represent CITSCORP. The racing community is high tech oriented, which makes CITSCORP and Area 81 Racing a great match. Briky already offers products to the NASCAR & GrandAm community for brake cooling systems.
