Thursday, January 19th, 2012

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County student has been suspended and could face criminal charges after allegedly messing with cafeteria food.

Custodial staff reported finding BBs in vegetable soup today at South Brunswick Middle School, according to Brunswick County Schools spokeswoman Jessica Swencki. In a news release, Swencki said the soup, served during the last lunch period of the day, was immediately pulled from the serving line as well as from students’ plates.

The student believed to be responsible for this action has been suspended and referred to law enforcement. No students or staff have reported any illness or injury, according to the district.

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

The runway is closed for work during the week, but it’s open during the weekend. ILM leaders say the airport’s other runway is open, so this is not interfering with any air traffic.
