WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) — An altercation broke out between between two men on the 500 block of S. 9th Street in Wilmington late Saturday night. The fight apparently led to a shooting and the death of a 22 year old man who died at the scene. The incident took place just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of 9th and Castle. The suspect left the scene. At this time he’s still on the loose.

The Wilmington Police Department is not releasing the name of the victim until the victim’s family receives proper notification. The case is obviously still under investigation.
