WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — You may see some strange sights along Wilmington’s riverfront the next few days. It’s all part of the production of “Iron Man 3.”
Crews started setting up special rigging last week. This morning we got a sneak peak of what it will do. About 10 people attached themselves to the rig and were hoisted by a crane above the Cape Fear River. With a scream from the performers, the rig raced down cables toward the river, where many of the people attached jumped in. There’s no word on how exactly this will play out in the movie, which hits theaters next spring.
With a camera barge now in place, the cast and crew of “Iron Man 3” are scheduled to film scenes in, and apparently above, the river tomorrow and Wednesday.
