CAMP LEJEUNE, NC (AP) — The Department of Defense says a Marine based at Camp Lejeune has been killed in Afghanistan.
Military officials say 34-year-old Gunnery Sgt. Jonathan W. Gifford of Palm Bay, Fla., was one of two Marines killed on July 29 while conducting combat operations in Badghis province
Gifford was assigned to 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion at Camp Lejeune.
